eTAP 20G – enhanced Traffic Access Point adobe Data Sheet

What’s on your network?™ Using the eTAP 20G Traffic Access Point (TAP), customers can now answer the question with pinpoint accuracy using RedDot Network’s Pinpoint Packet Inspection™. Unlike other TAPs which offer no or limited visibility, the eTAP 20G provides 100% visibility and makes identifying, isolating and replicating Layer 2 through Layer 7 traffic as simple as doing a web search for a keyword. The eTAP 20G measures signal strength and provides access for monitoring and troubleshooting.  Our solutions have the processing power to locate the desired application or traffic flow, distribute sessions to multiple monitoring tools and add timestamps to preserve timing and monitor latency and jitter.

The eTAP 20G comes standard with two (2) 10G network ports and four (4) monitor ports – two 10G LC ports and two 1G RJ-45 ports. The monitor ports can be used to connect to 10G or 1G tools for security (e.g. IDS), performance (e.g. NetFlow or sFlow analysis) and troubleshooting (e.g. protocol analyzer or data recorder). The eTAP 20G includes a 10/100 RJ-45 management port for configuration, statistics and reports.  By providing your monitoring tools with precisely the required application or network traffic, the eTAP 20G is a cost-effective way of maximizing the value of your existing and future network investments!

Using RedDot Network’s Remote TAP feature, selected traffic can be captured locally by the eTAP or be sent to a remote monitoring tool, which eliminates the need to be on location. Customers manage configuration as well as view statistics and reports from anywhere using a web interface on a laptop or smart phone.
